Glastonbury Festival 2019: Man, 23, charged after 'incident at campsite'

A 23-year-old has been charged with "intending to cause fear of violence" at Glastonbury Festival this year.

Joel Bassnett has also been charged with possession of cannabis.

The charge relates to an incident at a campsite on June 30 at around 11am, Somerset Live reports.

Mr Bassnett, of Maidstone Close in Liverpool, has been granted bail and will appear at Yeovil Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, July 17.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesperson said: "Joel Bassnett, 23, of Maidstone Close, Liverpool, was charged with two counts of using threatening/abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence and one count of possession of cannabis. 

“The charges relate to an incident at a Glastonbury Festival campsite at about 11am on Sunday, June 30.

“Bassnett is currently on bail pending an appearance at Yeovil Magistrates’ Court on July 17.”
