Glastonbury 2022: We chat to Bristol-based Idles ahead of their festival performance

Bristol-based punk rock favourites Idles have told Bristol Live that playing Glastonbury 2022 is a "dream come true." The Bristolians have been the cult indie favourites at the heart of the Bristol music scene for years, and tonight they're joining a stage that's seen Pete Doherty's The Libertines and indie-pop band Blossoms grace the stage earlier today.

The boys are fresh off a run of European festivals, and now they're set to play Glastonbury 2022 tonight (June 24). Bristol Live bumped into the band before their set at Glastonbury's Other Stage and they were pumped with adrenaline.

Lead vocalist, Joe Talbot, spoke to Bristol Live about their impending set. People often speak of the intangible 'magic' of Glastonbury, and that is not lost on Idles.

Joe said, "We've been doing a run of these European festivals, and we are so pumped to be here.

"This is the most beautiful place on earth and we are so excited to be here for the week." Idles take to the stage tonight (June 24) after Supergrass.

Earlier today, The Libertines opened The Other Stage. We have since seen the likes of Blossoms and First Aid Kit perform.

Performing on The Other Stage is no mean feat. Often viewed as the second biggest stage at Glastonbury after The Pyramid, you've hit the jackpot as a band to be considered for a line-up of this prestige.

This is not lost on Idles. Speaking with conviction, Joe promises the band will "f***ing tear it up" at Glastonbury 2022 - and we're sure they will.
