Glastonbury 2020: Guns N' Roses stoke headliner rumours by announcing UK gig during festival

An iconic band rumoured to be headlining this year's Glastonbury are playing a gig in the UK during the festival.

Guns N' Roses have been tipped to be the third headline act by many, joining Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift at the event's 50th anniversary.

Today (January 28) the legendary American rockers stoked the rumour mill by announcing a gig in Glasgow - one day before they are predicted by some to perform at Worthy Farm.

The outfit, headed up by Axl Rose and Slash, will play Glasgow Green on June 25.

The Somerset spectacular runs from June 25 - 30, with rock legend McCartney headlining on Saturday and pop sensation Swift on Sunday.

This means GNR could be lined up to take the Pyramid Stage by storm on Friday night, opening the festival with timeless hits such as Sweet Child O' Mine, November Rain, Welcome To The Jungle and Don't Cry.

Guns N' Roses formed in 1985 and have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, including 45 million in the US.

The band’s current lineup sees Axl Rose playing with Slash and Duff McKagan after the three reunited in 2016.

Other acts rumoured to take the third headline spot at Glastonbury 2020 include Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, Arctic Monkeys and Madonna.

Diana Ross and Wolf Alice are the only other acts to officially be confirmed, although there is an ever-growing list of artists who have self-confirmed for Glastonbury Festival 2020.
