Glastonbury 2020: Festival reveals music icon who will play legend slot

One of the most successful singers of all time has been confirmed for Glastonbury Festival 2020.

Diana Ross will take to the Pyramid Stage for the Sunday 'legend' slot.

The American singer, 75, scored a string of hits with Motown outfit The Supremes before launching a dazzling solo career in 1970.

The festival's official Twitter account broke the news this morning (October 10), noting organisers were "delighted" to have secured the big name.

Ross shared the news saying it was "a dream come true" and told fans she was coming to the festival "with love".

When Ross was the lead singer of all-female act the Supremes, the group produced chart-topping songs including 'Baby Love', 'Stop! In the Name of Love' and 'You Can't Hurry Love'.

As a solo artist, meanwhile, Ross's most famous songs include 'Upside Down', 'I'm Coming Out' and 'Touch Me in the Morning'.

Last year's legend was Australian singer Kylie Minogue, who delighted audiences - both at Worthy Farm and in armchairs across the country - while also sharing personal reflections .

General sale tickets quickly sold out when they were released last Sunday (October 6) but there are still ways you can get a ticket.

to celebrate the festival's fiftieth year and there is also the possibility of 'secret' sales.
