Glastonbury 2019: 11 of the best acts announced to play Silver Hayes

Glasto-goers were treated to a nice surprise yesterday afternoon (April 14) when the lineup for Silver Hayes was announced.

It's historically uncommon for Glastonbury-related news to be shared on Sundays, which meant not even the most ardent of festival fanatics saw it coming.

For the uninitiated, Silver Hayes is an area of the festival which welcomes mostly dance music acts.

It started life in 1995 as just one stage called the Dance Tent and has developed ever since. In 2013 the newly-revamped Dance Village was introduced and Silver Hayes was born.

It is home to Sonic, Wow, the Pussy Palure, BBC Music Introducing and the Gully and Blues, which this year are merging to bring people "brighter and larger global sounds".

There will also be a brand new micro-venue in Silver Hayes this year called No Average Groove, which will bring people the hottest tunes from the underground dance music scene.
