Glastonbury 2015: what to look forward to on Sunday

★ The Who: Pyramid stage, 9.45pm

People (Justin from the Vaccines) try to put them down, but the stadium rock group are still triumphant headliners after all these years. Prepare yourself for more hits than Mayweather v Pacquiao, from My Generation to Pinball Wizard.

★ Alt-J: Pyramid stage, 5.45pm

Future-pop outfit famously fond of singing about crisp packets and sampling Miley Cyrus deliver some chart-friendly weirdness to the main stage.

★ Patti Smith: Pyramid stage, 2.15pm

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of her agenda-setting debut album, Horses, Smith brings primitive rock n’roll and profound musings to the event.

★ The Chemical Brothers: Other stage, 9.45pm

The Chems are exactly what’s needed to see out Sunday. Expect new tunes from their tempo-upping album Born in the Echoes as well as some back catalogue bangers.

★ Jamie T: Other stage, 8.15pm

After disappearing for what seemed like forever (but was actually five years), Jamie T resurfaced in a blaze of glory last summer, his rowdy punk poetry creating nearly as much fuss as it did the first time round.

★ Belle And Sebastian: Other stage, 6.45pm

The Glasgow indie pop stars return to the festival for a show that celebrates their 20-plus-year career.

★ Future Islands: Other stage, 5.15pm

The band and their snake-hipped singer Samuel T Herring croon their way to festival glory: come for the synthpop, stay for the best dance moves in all of indie.

★ FKA Twigs: West Holts, 8.30pm

Tahliah Barnett has enjoyed a stratospheric rise to success over the past two years. That’s probably because she’s the full creative package – her experimental choreography and visuals are just as anticipated as her stirring, simmering R&B-infused pop.

★ Death Cab for Cutie: John Peel stage, 8.45pm

Sun-dappled enthusiasts of emo (the good kind). Ben Gibbard’s band share their lovelorn indie-pop on the John Peel stage. You might just blub.

★ Charli XCX: John Peel stage, 6.05pm

Having cowritten songs for the likes of Gwen Stefani, James Blunt and Iggy Azalea, these days Charli XCX seems to be keeping her catchiest output for herself. Now that she’s finished supporting Katy Perry on tour, she’ll be bringing her rebel pop to the Somerset fields.

★ The Purist: Sonic, 3pm

Expect impeccably smooth future funk from this UK hip-hop producer, beloved by the likes of Danny Brown and Action Bronson. “Purveyor of luxurious rap beats”, says his Soundcloud blurb. He’s not wrong, you know.
