Most of you probably haven't even yet bought your 2007 diary, let alone started filling it in. But today, a very important date in next year's calendar of events has been revealed: April 1, at 9am no less, is, according to the NME, the likely date and time that tickets for next year's Glastonbury festival will go on sale.
The event - the first Glastonbury for two years - itself isn't supposed to be happening until the weekend of June 22 - 24, licencing permitting. But with friends of mine already debating whether to turn down a wedding invitation because the big day clashes with that even bigger weekend of rock'n'roll, is this sensible forward-planning or, well, madness?
There are so many brilliant festivals to choose from these days, in the UK and elsewhere. Is it really still right to make Glastonbury the main event in our music diaries, or should we shirk the hype and do something less organised instead?
