Glass bottle stabbing as man battered by gang at Scots skate park

Cops have launched a probe after a man was brutally stabbed with a glass bottle and battered by a gang in a Scots skate park.

The 24-year-old was attacked by another man with the bottle around 8.15pm on Saturday at Kirkintilloch skate park in East Dumbartonshire.

As he tried to escape towards Waverley Park he was chased down by a gang of men who beat him further.

Emergency crews raced to the scene and the victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where his injuries were treated.

Police are treating the incident as a serious assault and have revealed that the suspect involved in the initial assault is described as wearing dark clothing.

Detective Sergeant Craig Paterson from Kirkintilloch CID said: “The skate park was busy at the time of this assault and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened, or noticed the subsequent incident in Waverley Crescent, to please get in touch.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 3373 of Saturday, 26 June, 2021. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
