This Glasgow writer's guide to Scottish swearing is so naughty that the book has a modesty cover.
Deedee Cuddihy made the panel after saying she had concerns from some shop keepers that it might offend some of their customers.
The 72-year-old said: “The front of “The Wee Guide to Scottish Swearing” does feature x-rated words and images, so I’ve had a sleeve printed up that can be slipped over the cover and warns that the book contains offensive material.”
The cover features foul-mouthed phrases including "F*** the Polis', 'Here We F*****g Go' and the classic go-to insult 'Yer Maw'.
The American-born author said the book is packed with swear words and expletive-laden remarks she has overheard in the streets, on buses and trains, from people face-to-face and on their phones.
Deedee revealed she received a flurry of orders from down south after it received a good write-up in The Times newspaper.

She added: “I don’t know what English readers will make of all the Scottish expletives, but there have been no complaints so far! Orders have also come in from Belgium, Germany and the U.S.A.”
“The book is not an academic study but is based on real-life swearing, overheard by me, mostly in the streets of Glasgow and with additional material contributed by friends and colleagues in other parts of Scotland.”
She explains she decided not to use asterisks for even the most offensive words in “The Wee Guide to Scottish Swearing”, explaining that it would have “interfered with the humour - and the poetry - of the language.”
