Glasgow wrestling event starring WWE hero has been postponed due to coronavirus

A wrestling event which was due to take place in Glasgow in the coming days – featuring a WWE star – has been called off.

Wrestling live event company Inside The Ropes has announced their show with WWE star Kevin Owens has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The one night only event, which was set to take place at The Engine Works on Friday, March 20, has now been put back until Friday, June 5.

It comes as the coronavirus pandemic takes it toll on a number of events across Glasgow.

In an official statement released on their Twitter, Inside The Ropes said: "We have been in constant communication with WWE and Kevin in regards to going ahead with the show.

"While we would have loved to have delivered the show next Friday, given the continuing escalation of the virus, we are left with no choice but to postpone the show until Friday June 5 2020.

"This decision was made with considerable consideration to the health and wellbeing of you our customers, our employees and the talent which is of the upmost importance to us during this uncertain time in the world."

Anyone who purchased a ticket for next week's show should have received an email from Inside The Ropes outlining full details.

The decision comes as Glasgow wrestling promotion ICW announced its intention to go ahead with their upcoming shows.
