Glasgow woman struck by vehicle as both driver and casualty rushed to hospital

Two women have been taken to hospital after a vehicle ploughed into a pedestrian this evening (February 1).

Both the driver and pedestrian have been hospitalised following the incident which took place on Haghill Road around 5.20pm.

A 55-year-old woman was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and a 54-year-old woman was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The road was closed following the incident but has since reopened. Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.20pm on Wednesday, 1 February, 2023, we were called to a report of a person struck by a vehicle on Haghill Road, Glasgow.

"Anyone with any information about the crash or with relevant dash-cam footage is encouraged to contact police by calling 101, quoting incident number 2684."
