Glasgow woman finds part of 'human' heart inside kitchen of new build home

A Glasgow woman was left stunned after discovering what appears to be a piece of a human heart inside her new kitchen.

Kathryn Gaston had been exploring her new build home when she came across an unusual plastic container.

Things became somewhat grim when it was revealed to be an aortic valve floating in a jar of formaldehyde.

The valve is normally found inside the human heart between the left ventricle and the aorta.

Kathryn shared her freaky find for a competition run by furniture firm ScS.

People across the UK shared similar stories of creepy items left behind by the previous home owners.

Others included a food log from an old mental hospital from the 1920s, a rabbit skull and a resuscitation doll used for CPR training.

But ScS bosses were especially spooked by Kathryn’s story and decided to award her a new sofa worth £849.99.

Dave Gillespie, Head of Acquisition at ScS, said: “With the property market booming, many people will be moving into new homes, and who knows what they might find when they do?

“We were amazed at some of the crazy things people have come across on moving-in day.

“Finding something like our winner did would put anyone off their breakfast! We hope that a new sofa will help Kathryn create some nicer memories in her home.”
