Glasgow woman creates emotional short film urging those struggling during pandemic to seek help

A Glasgow woman has created a video to promote discussions of mental health amid the ongoing covid pandemic.

Kathryn McKenna, a content creator, is a major advocate for mental health matters and created the short film in order to highlight the impact of the pandemic on our mental health.

The video has been filmed in Glasgow and urges people who may be struggling to seek help. The voiceover documents the struggles people are facing, feeling "disconnected, distant and lonely" during lockdowns as the "price for loved ones protected".

It continues: "We mask our face, mask sad smiles, but we mustn't mask our feelings. Stay safe, stay alert, we're staying at home. Now we must say to our minds that we're not in this alone.

"2021 - still the year of the virus, but not the alone pandemic whose attention requires us. If you or a loved one are struggling to cope, please speak up. Seek help and know that there is hope."

The video ends with a link to resources available from the Centre For Mental Health.

The emotional video can be viewed in full above.
