Glasgow weather: When the sun is expected to come out on Sunday after grey week

After a dull and grey week in Glasgow, the sun is at last expected to make a significant appearance on Sunday.

We reported earlier this week that it was set to be a predominantly cloudy weekend in the city, with only brief bursts of sunshine.

However, according to the Met Office, Sunday will be a "dry, bright day with sunny spells".

Skies will be mostly clear from sunrise, though it will be a cold morning — with temperatures hovering just below 5 degrees Celsius until around midday.

After this, the mercury will hit a peak of 6C, where it will stay until sunset before remaining around 5C overnight.

The sun is expected to be out in full force until 2pm, after which clouds will begin to form over the city.

There will still be sunny intervals until sundown, however, and it will be a mostly clear night in Glasgow.

Monday looks set to be similarly pleasant, and will likely be slightly warmer — with the Met Office predicting highs of 7C.

The weather service states that it will be mostly dry and bright, though notes it may be "quite windy".
