Glasgow weather: When the heatwave is set to end as rain heads in

The end of Scotland's heatwave is in sight, according to weather reports.

Temperatures in Glasgow have soared during most of July but heading into August it looks like the clouds and rain will return.

There's still set to be a few days left to soak up the sun however.

Monday could be another scorcher of a day, with a maximum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius predicted by Met Office.

They state in their report: "Any low cloud and mist soon clearing, otherwise a sunny start."

Tuesday will cool down slightly but the average temperature will remain around 18 degrees.

From Wednesday onwards, there is a potential of rainfall and although temperatures look set to remain over 10 degrees there will be further cooling throughout the week.

Met Office say the weather will become "much cooler" and "increasingly unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain.

The weather service also predicts this rain may be "heavy and perhaps thundery at times".

Looking to the long-term forecast, Met Office states that the whole of the UK will experience "unsettled" weather, with both heavy rain showers and bouts of sunshine likely.

There is also predicted to be heavy winds across the country.

Further into August, Met Office says there is the potential for warm temperatures to return as a result of high pressure.
