Glasgow weather: When and where the next thunderstorms are set to hit as another warning issued

Glasgow has been hit with some truly horrible weather over the weekend, with relentless rain and thunderstorms leading to flooding across the city.

While today has gotten off to a far brighter start than the past two days, with some sunshine even making an appearance, it's sadly not expected to last.

A new yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for specific parts of Glasgow as well as much of Lanarkshire.

The Met Office is warning "heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause flooding and disruption in a few places".

After yesterday saw multiple roads closed due to flooding and businesses forced to shut their doors, be sure to take precautions and avoid the roads where you can!

When will the warning hit?

The Met Office alert comes into effect at noon today, with the currently sunny weather making way for rainclouds, with forecaster predicting "heavy, slow-moving downpours will develop on Monday."

Where will the weather alert hit?

The thunderstorm weather warning is only in place for the east end of Glasgow and much of Lanarkshire, spreading out towards Cumbernauld, Wishaw and East Kilbride.

How long will it last?

The current warning is expected to be in place throughout the course of the day, ending at 11pm tonight. However, the Met Office is not expecting wall-to-wall downpours, similar to the weekend. Instead, more sporadic bursts of rain are expected.
