Glasgow weather: what happened to the snow - and what’s the forecast for the rest of the week?

We were been warned of worsening weather all weekend, with the Met Office issuing a yellow alert for snow and ice last night and this morning - but what happened to all the snow?

While many of you might have dreamt of waking up to a snowy blanket coating the city sadly the overnight blizzards failed to deliver.

The weather warning for snow lifted at 11am - and most places barely saw even a light dusting of the white stuff.

And it's bad news if you had your heart set on making snow angels later in the week  - it looks like Glasgow's chance of snow has come and gone.

In fact, the weather is looking like a bit of a washout the rest of the week.

The rain is set to return at around 5pm this evening and continue long into the night.

Tomorrow and the next day are looking similarly wet with the rain not set to ease until around 6pm on Thursday night.

Friday brings more showers and highs of 9C.

Sunday night looks set to be the clearest, with the forecast suggesting we could see some sunshine peeping through the clouds  - but we’ll believe it when we see it.
