Glasgow weather: weekend set to be a scorcher reaching over 20 degrees

We've been blessed with some truly good weather over the last fortnight, but in recent days it's got a bit muggy and humid.

However, things are about to change yet again - and it's in our favour!

This weekend the weather is set to reach highs of 20 degrees again, with some sun!

So if you're watching the start of the Euros, or planning a wee staycation - don't forget that suncream and a sunhat!

Friday:

According to the Met Office, there will be a few showers around in the morning, but that will move off into a lot of dry weather in the afternoon with sunny spells. It'll be sunny with some cloud by 3pm and is to be pure sunshine at 5pm.

There will be some fresh southwesterly winds and the maximum temperature will reach 18 degrees.

Saturday

It'll be a bit cooler on Saturday, but still dry. The maximum temperature will be around 16 degrees at around 4pm.

While it will be sunny with clouds, it'll definitely be bright so get your suncream on anyways.

Sunday

Sunday is set to be a scorcher, reaching highs of 20 degrees at 4pm and heating up to it all day. It'll be dry, sunny and warm until around 10pm when some rain can be expected.

Monday

It'll be a bit cooler on Monday, and will start of with rain throughout the early hours of the morning. The temperature will reach maximum 14 degrees, so it's going to be colder with rain and clouds, but the sun will peek through in the mid afternoon.

Glasgow will enjoy some sunny weather this weekend. (Reach PLC)

Next week

There will be a risk of showers in the south, especially mid-next week, which could even culminate in a thundery breakdown.

Temperatures are expected to be very warm under the high, perhaps hot for a time in the south east, but look to remain average in the far north. Into the latter half of this period, there are signs that less settled conditions could push in from the north west to other parts of the country.

Temperatures returning to nearer normal by the end of the week - so get your rays in this Sunday!
