Glasgow weather: Weekend forecast as pubs and restaurants face final days of outdoor service

Scotland's hospitality industry is facing its final weekend of outdoor service only for alcohol - and it's been a wet and windy start for businesses reopening after months of lockdown.

Glasgow has been hit with a chilly start to Spring, with the past few weekends being filled with rain, wind, and much colder temperatures than we'd expect in April and May.

So we're sure the news that pubs and restaurants can serve alcohol indoors until 10.30pm will be a welcome relief for businesses.

And undoubtedly the fact the weather is refusing to cooperate for the final weekend of outdoor alcohol service won't do anything to change their minds.

The Met Office is predicting another weekend of showers for those braving the beer gardens. Saturday is expected to be cloudy, changing to light showers by lunchtime.

The weather forecast predicts: "Some brightness across the north otherwise a rather cloudy day. A few showers, occasionally heavy, across the south. The north will be mainly dry. Maximum temperature 14 °C."

Meanwhile, Sunday will be (hopefully) dry, but remain overcast and a bit chilly.

So if you're heading out for a final bracing outdoor pint before we're welcomed back into the warmth of the pub, don't forget to layer up - and bring that raincoat.
