A yellow warning for ice is coming into force across Greater Glasgow tonight.
The Met Office has issued an alert for between midnight and 11am tomorrow, warning of icy patches, risky driving conditions and potential disruption across travel networks.
The temperature is set to reach a mild 10C in the city today, with bright spells and some showers on the way later this evening.
But wintry showers are on their way according to forecasters, with thermometers expected to plunge to a minimum of -1C overnight.
The Met Office states on its website that "frequent wintry showers will move in from the north-west, which may fall as sleet and snow to lower levels at times" tomorrow.
Its roundup for the day states that Glasgow will see "light snow changing to showers by late morning", with any sleet or snow showers expected to finish at around 9am.
Meanwhile, BBC Weather predicts "sleet showers" on Friday, and hail showers for much of the afternoon.
