Glasgow weather update as snow warning in force from Saturday evening

Glasgow could once again see snowfall with a weather warning in force from Saturday evening.

The yellow warning for snow has been issued for most of north and central Scotland and begins at 5pm this evening.

As it stands, the Met Office say the warning will remain in place until 3pm on Sunday.

They advise: "Heavy snow showers may lead to some travel disruption, especially over high routes."

What to expect

  • Some roads and railways affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services

In spite of the warning for wintry weather, the latest forecast predicts heavy rain in Glasgow throughout much of Saturday. Meanwhile, wind gusts of over 40mph an hour are expected. Temperatures remain low and will dip to around 3c overnight.

Sunday will see a similarly miserable day on the weather front with more heavy rainfall and strong winds forecast.

As it stands, Glasgow isn't predicted to experience a dry day until Friday, with regular rain showers expected throughout the week.
