Glasgow weather this weekend as Met Office issue warning for Sunday

Glasgow is set for a dreich and dour weekend of weather, with the Met Office having issued a weather warning for strong winds on Sunday.

Saturday is expected to bring dark clouds and showers, while on Sunday we could witness wind gusts of over 40mph, forecasters say.

Meanwhile, temperatures are not expected to exceed 15C throughout the weekend.

The yellow weather warning comes into force at midnight on Sunday and remains in place until 4pm.

The Met Office advises: "Strong winds may lead to some disruption on Sunday."

What to expect

  • There is a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs
  • There is a small chance of longer journey times or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected
  • There is a small chance that some roads and bridges could close
  • There is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
  • There is a small chance that injuries could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties
