Glasgow weather: The beer garden weekend forecast ahead

We’ve been lucky on the weather front lately, Glasgow - but sadly the black clouds that rolled in yesterday are set to stick around this weekend.

After lots of pleasant sunshine this week, we're afraid this weekend will likely be a mixed bag.

Yes, today (Saturday) is slightly cloudier than we all anticipated - but the sun could show itself yet, with highs of around 20C predicted in the city according to the Met Office forecast.

So the good news is that it should remain dry most of the day, with some occasional light spots of rain.

The forecast reads: “A warm day with bright or sunny spells. Cloud will bubble up to bring a few showers, some heavy in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 20 °C.”

Unfortunately, things are likely to take a bit of a turn on Sunday. There’s rain and a chance of thunderstorms and lightning forecast from 10am, and more in the afternoon too, although we can still expect highs of 20C - it’s going to be a balmy one, folks!

From there it’s set to be fairly mild. We're expecting to see lots of rain showers next week, with the black clouds sticking around until Thursday.

The Met Office forecast for Sunday to Tuesday reads: “More unsettled than of late with showers or longer spells of rain, heavy and perhaps thundery at times. Still feeling warm in any sunshine with mainly light winds.”

Thunder and rain isn't exactly the weather we were hoping for in July - but being Glaswegians, it’s safe to say we can handle a shower or two.

Still, it might scupper your chances of a pint in the beer garden this weekend - so take a brolly!
