Glasgow weather: The temperatures for every day this week as mini heatwave hits city

Glasgow's spectacular sunset last night spelled the perfect end to the weekend and had us scrambling for our phones to capture the fantastic colours we were treated to on camera.

And with the city predicted to bathe in a whole week of warm weather, according to the Met Office, with any luck we'll be treated to a few more of them to enjoy over the next few days alongside some much welcome sunshine.

That means of course we are bracing ourselves for the sight of some folk out on the street bearing their torsos amid 'Taps Aff' mercury levels or the sight of some - who appear to have a death-wish - sunbathing out of their third-floor flat window.

Here's what we have in store for the coming week:

Monday

Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 22C today, with some warm sunshine expected to burst through this afternoon after a cloudy start.

Tuesday

Tomorrow is expected to be the warmest day of the week, with the mercury set to reach a sweltering 24C - and sunny skies expected to see us through until sunset.

Wednesday

Wednesday will be slightly cooler, but still virtually tropical by Glasgow standards, with temperatures of around 20C. Rather than full-blazing sunshine, its predicted to be cloudy, but with sunny intervals.

Thursday

Temperatures are set to increase a tad on Thursday again, with 21C predicted for the city. The Met Office reckon it will be a cloudy start, which will change to clear blue skies by late morning.

Friday

Again we are set for a further wee increase, with 22C set for the end of the working week - one which will no doubt see the city's beer gardens packed out. The only downside is the cloud is expected to roll in by late afternoon after a sunny start.
