Glasgow weather: Temperature will jump to 25 degrees for one day only this week as more sunny weather hits city

Glasgow is set to enjoy a much-needed spot of sunshine amid the dreich weather this week.

Cloud, winds and outbreaks of rain are expected to set in over the next few days after today's heavy downpours, with the temperature peaking at maximum of 19C on Thursday.

But the thermometers are set to soar to a "dry and hot" 25C with hazy sunny spells on Friday, according to the BBC's forecast.

Across the UK, July is set to end on a high – with the mercury rocketing to 30C in some parts of the country.

It's not to last, sadly, with the temperature set to tail off to the late teens in the west of Scotland over the weekend.

Obviously our weather is notoriously subject to change, so keep a close eye on the Met Office's website just incase.
