Glasgow weather: Spanish plume bringing 21C temperatures this weekend

Put away your woolly socks and autumnal scarves, Glasgow. Summer is having an encore!

It would be fair to say this summer has been one of the wettest we've been put through, so we think the news that we're getting a second wind of warm weather is only fair.

The Met Office is forecasting a warm and sunny weekend with temperatures reaching highs of 21C on Saturday.

It's all thanks to a Spanish plume bringing warm weather our way and spreading through the UK.

However, it's unclear how long it could last with Sunday looking a bit iffier, with cloud cover returning and temperatures of around 18C.

A statement from the Met Office reads: "Dry Friday and Saturday with increasingly warm or very warm sunny spells and occasionally fresh southeasterly breeze. Cloudier Sunday with outbreaks of heavy, perhaps thundery, showery rain but brighter later."

So let's make the most of this unexpected Indian Summer - we all know how temperamental our weather could be. It could be snowstorms and icicles by next week!
