Glasgow weather: Snow hits city as Storm Darcy moves in

Glasgow has been by snow as Storm Darcy moves in.

The city has been braced for sub-zero temperatures throughout the week with yellow weather warnings in place for snow and ice.

Parts of the city are already experiencing snowfall. Pictures from the city's west end and south side show blizzard conditions and snow already lying on the roads and pavements.

People living in affected areas have been warned to prepare for some travel disruption, however, roads are currently significantly quieter due to current lockdown restrictions prohibiting all but essential travel.

The Met Office has urged residents to be wary of untreated surfaces as slips and falls are possible.

Temperatures are set to dip to minus 4 on Wednesday, although with windchill the Met says it will feel like minus 8.
