Glasgow weather: Nine words you might hear people use to describe the 'scorchio' temperatures

Ice cream van owners across Glasgow must be picturing how good that jacuzzi is going to look once it's craned into position in their back garden thanks to all the cones they'll be selling amid the heatwave the city is currently experiencing.

The heatwave that has us emptying supermarkets of disposable BBQs, parasols and sunbed shops resembling the Mary Celeste inside as folk soak up the rare real sun that seems like it's staying put in the skies above us for the foreseeable.

And as we look to the possibility of the mercury reaching never-before-seen temperatures in Glasgow this week and post Science Centre staff on roof-melting watch - we thought we'd cobble together a list of all the words we use here for very hot temperatures.
