Glasgow weather: More rain and frosty temperatures ahead for the first week of May

You only need to look out your window to see that May hasn't welcomed us with the Spring weather that we had hoped to enjoy.

In fact, the bank holiday weekend has delivered more or less non-stop rain and chilly temperatures, and today is proving to be the most grim yet.

It doesn't help that the spate of bad weather has coincided with the reopening of beer gardens - with punters having to brave the rain if they're looking for that first post-lockdown pint.

Sadly it doesn't look like the weather is set to get any better in the days to come. The Met Office is predicting the remainder of this week will be include plenty more rain and colder temperatures.

Although there will hopefully be some drier spells, the majority of this week is expected to remain colder and wetter than anyone would hope for the beginning of May.

Tomorrow's forecast reads: "Rather cloudy start with further showers. Drier, brighter weather will extend from north to all parts later in the morning then sunny spells and just a few showers in afternoon. Maximum temperature 9 °C."

Meanwhile, the Met Office's outlook from Wednesday to Sunday continues: "The showery theme will continue for the rest of the week. Some heavier showers are likely but dry, sunny spells too. Staying quite cold with a frost risk at nights."

So if you've got plans to visit a beer garden in the coming days, you'll need to bring out your waterproofs!
