The sun is set to beat down on Glasgow this Thursday- and we can almost here the sounds of Glaswegians excitedly texting their pals making plans to have a socially distanced picnic in the park.
With highs of 26 degrees in the city predicted on Thursday it would be tempting to say summer has arrived - but is it too good to be true?
Well, we have good news and bad on the weather front.
The good is that while temperatures are set to return to the 20s on Wednesday before the heat turns right up to a possible 26/27C on Thursday. The bad? You can expect a mixture of sunny spells and heavy rain - perhaps with a bit of thunder thrown in.
The forecast reads: “Grey, misty start to Wednesday then a lot of dry, bright weather with sunny spells. Becoming very warm or even hot with high temperatures triggering a few thundery downpours.”
The upside is that high temperatures look here to stay. The Met Office predicts Friday will see early morning showers turn to sunny intervals with highs of 26C.
Over the weekend things will be a little cooler - and cloudier- but thankfully there is no sign of rain.
But of course, us Glaswegians know better than most than rain has a habit of creeping up on us. Still, it's good to be optimisic. Just remember to pack the brolly along with the picnic blanket and drinks cooler...
