Glasgow weather: Met Office predict city could be hit by thunderstorms next week

It's fair to say Glasgow's weather is feeling a little bit temperamental this year.

It seems like just as we resign ourselves to a rainy summer, the sun makes an appearance and we're treated to temperatures reaching 22 degrees.

But the minute we begin to think it may stick around, the rain returns with a vengeance.

Well, we're afraid we've got more bad news, Glasgow...

Plans to reopen 125-year-old Glasgow restaurant that closed its doors in 2015

Not only is the dreich weather sticking around beyond this weekend, but we could even be in for thunderstorms.

The Met Office forecast is predicting heavy rain and chilly temperatures for the Strathclyde region from Monday to Wednesday.

It states: "Sunny or clear spells and occasionally heavy and perhaps thundery showers, these slow moving with mainly light winds, but more persistent rain later Wednesday. Low cloud and patchy fog overnight."

As if it wasn't enough that we had toasty temperatures all week, just to get lumped with this weather the minute the weekend came...

Petition calling for safe pedestrian crossing at Victoria Park receives nearly 1,400 signatures

Still, if the recent weather is anything to go by, we should be back to glorious sunshine in no time (we hope)...
