Glasgow weather: Met Office issues warning for ice as freezing temperatures continue

A new weather warning for ice has been issued  by the Met Office for Glasgow this evening.

Temperatures have plummeted in the city in recent days, with a number of alerts for now and ice in place.

Now, the Met Office has issued a new yellow warning, which will come into effect at 6pm this evening, continuing through until 11am tomorrow morning.

The warning is in place for large stretches of the east coast in the UK, but has also moved into the west of Scotland.

The alert reads: "Icy patches are expected to develop, especially on untreated surfaces, where snow has been melting on Sunday and where frequent showers occur through the night. Further hill snow is also possible above 200-300m, though less extensively than last night."
