Glasgow weather: Met Office issue further ice warning for city

The Met Office have issued a further weather warning for Glasgow.

The yellow warning for ice comes into force at 6pm today and will remain in place until 11am tomorrow morning.

Glasgow has witnessed wintry conditions since the start of the New Year, with temperatures plummeting to as low as -8C last night.

Snow which fell on Thursday night is still lying across the city.

However, it may not be around for long, with temperatures set to warm up a little tomorrow and Monday, reaching as high as 8C.

In the meantime, the Met Office urge motorists to take caution on the roads, warning: "Icy stretches may lead to some difficult driving conditions."

What to expect

  • Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
  • Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
