Glasgow weather map as heavy snowfall forecast across the city next week

Glasgow's weather has been a mixed bag recently with strong winds, hail and thunder and lighting all happening within a short space of time.

And the unsettled conditions are set to continue as snow could be on its way after this week. According to the latest map by WXCharts, the city will likely see snowfall on February 19, which falls on a Sunday, with people being urged to take caution and brace for the white stuff falling.

It means that people across the city are being urged to prepare for the bad weather whether you're staying at home or having to venture out on the roads.

Snow begins to make its way to Scotland on Saturday, travelling up the west coast passing Northern Ireland. It's then on Sunday that the likelihood of snow is at its highest.

This should eventually clear by the following morning (Monday February 20) just in time for many people heading back to work.

Areas of snow are shown by regions of light purple inside dark purple on the WX Charts weather map, with other areas in Scotland such as For William and Dundee also under the darker zone indicating heavier snowfall.

In an update to this week's WX Charts map, snow is no longer expected on Friday as originally predicted.

Looking at the weather for this week, the BBC and Met Office have indicated that the city will likely see heavy rainfall although there are no signs that snow will occur this week as predicted by the map last week.
