Glasgow weather: How long will sunshine and warm spells in city last?

The current spell of warm weather is set to continue in Glasgow for at least a little while longer, with the Met Office predicting almost another full week of sunshine and warm temperatures.

According to the forecaster, the next few days will bring some "unseasonably warm" weather and "unbroken sunshine".

Tuesday will start off chilly but things will warm up considerably by lunchtime, before peaking around 15 degrees Celsius in the mid afternoon.

After a morning and afternoon of sunny intervals, skies will clear up by 5pm, around which time temperatures will gradually begin to cool.

It will still be a mild night in Glasgow, however, with the mercury holding steadily above 10C until around midnight, before dropping to 7C early on Wednesday morning.

Unlike Tuesday, clear skies are expected all day and temperatures in the city will reach an even higher peak of 17C.

The Met Office's outlook for the weather between Thursday and Saturday states: "High pressure brings dry, settled weather with clear or sunny spells through the coming days.

"Still unseasonably warm by day but rather chilly at night. Mainly light winds."

Temperatures will not match Wednesday's peak of 17C but will consistently hit 14C throughout the rest of the week.

After a mostly cloudy Friday, the weekend looks to be particularly pleasant — with uninterrupted clear skies forecast for much of Saturday and Sunday.

The beginning of next week, however, looks to bring an end to the nice weather, with dark clouds forecast on Monday.

The good news is that it will still be mild with peaks of 12C expected in the afternoon.
