Glasgow weather: Hottest weekend of the year expected as temperatures soar in Scotland

From the move to Level 0 to a waiver for those fully vaccinated, it's safe to say Scotland has had some pretty good news this week.

And it just keeps on coming.

Scotland is on course for a scorcher with this weekend set to be hottest of the year so far as temperatures in the city reach up to 28C.

Do people still say 'taps aff'?

The Met Office predicts that "settled weather" will continue on Friday (July 16) and throughout the weekend with all parts of the city staying "dry with plenty of warm sunshine although misty at times on the west coast."

From July 18 to 27, more good news is on it's way with Glaswegians set to expect a period of "widely dry" weather with plenty of sunshine developing on Sunday.

Other cities set to bask in the sun include Aberdeen, reaching a high of 21C, Edinburgh reaching 23C and Dumfries set to soak up the sun in 25C heat.

Who needs to book a holiday abroad now anyway? Get that staycation booked!
