Glasgow weather: Heavy rain and flood warning issued for Glasgow this weekend

A yellow warning has been issued from the Met Office predicting heavy rain and potential flooding in Glasgow.

The weather alert covers a large portion of the UK, Glasgow and the wider Strathclyde region included, and will be in force from midnight until 6pm on Sunday (October 6).

The warning reads: “Heavy rain may cause some transport disruption and flooding in places on Sunday. Expect spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer. Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer. Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely. Some interruptions to power supplies and other services also likely.”

Well, it looks like autumn has well and truly arrived …

The current forecast for the weekend shows heavy rain rolling in from Saturday afternoon, around 3pm, remaining heavy throughout the night then easing off by late afternoon on Sunday. Monday morning also shows potential heavy rain.
