Glasgow weather - heatwave to bring 29C temperatures as UK braced for 'hottest day ever'

Glasgow is expected to experience temperatures as high as 29C degrees tomorrow as the UK braces itself for the 'hottest day ever'.

Some reports say parts of the UK could heat up to as much as 39C, breaking the previous hottest temperature record of 36.7C set at Heathrow Airport in 2015.

Specifically in Glasgow, we're expected to approach the 30C mark mid-afternoon tomorrow, while the temperature will be as hot as 20C at 9am.

Wall-to-wall sunshine is predicted throughout the day, however, Glasgow will be hit by rain from 6pm onwards.

Meanwhile the BBC forecast we could be set for more thunder and lightning tomorrow night, from 8pm onwards, as temperatures begin to cool - lightning strikes have already been felt in Glasgow this morning (Wednesday), as a yellow Met Office weather warning for thunderstorms remains in place until 9am.
