Glasgow weather: Hardy Glaswegian enjoys Eusebi's pint and pasta in flooded west end street

We're a hardy bunch us Glaswegians. Bad weather? There's no such thing - just the wrong clothes.

Our city has taken a bit of a battering in recent days. For much of the weekend we were under a Met Office weather warning for thunderstorms - Scottish summertime for you - and the wild weather has continued this evening.

We've witnessed lightning strikes in various parts of the city and heard the thunder rumbling in. Cars have become stuck amid the flash floods and most of us have already discarded that umbrella we recently purchased - another one not quite up to west coast of Scotland weather.

And in these awful conditions, the majority have probably decided to take shelter indoors, cosy up and be thankful for the roof over our heads.

However, one intrepid Glaswegian has decided to stand - or sit - in defiance of nature, enjoy a beer and some Al Fresco Italian dining, while watching the world go by - and others getting a good soaking.

Famous west end food spot Eusebi's Deli shared a snap of the man this afternoon, who seemed to be blissfully unaware of the waterlogged scene around him, beautifully contrasting his fellow customer seeking refuge under a huge umbrella and the sandbags just a metre away.

Commenting on social media, Eusebi's team said: "What flooding? The gent seated ordered a plate of spaghetti Vongole, a Moretti and a dessert. Only in Glasgow."

Venice and Amsterdam may have their famous canals and continental dining - but who needs that when our city has this?

What a legend. Only in Glasgow indeed!

What's the strangest thing you've witnessed amid the wet weather recently? Let us know in the comments.
