Glasgow weather: further warning issued for Monday as city faces another week of wind, snow and rain misery

We’re not out of the woods yet, Glasgow - next week looks set to be just as miserable on the weather front, complete with a new Met Office alert.

Following a rain warning for today (Friday) and news that snow could be on the way tomorrow (Saturday), a further Met Office yellow warning has been issued for wind on Monday - just in time for going back to work after the weekend.

The weather warning, in place between 9am and 9pm on Monday (February 24) covers much of the central belt and predicts a spell of windy weather and possible travel disruption as a result.

The Met Office states: “Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely, with bus and train services affected and some journeys taking longer.”

It’s nothing new for Glasgow following weeks of rain, snow and wind as the city was battered by storms Ciara and Dennis in quick succession.

The next name on the list is Storm Ellen - but the Met Office has yet to call it, and will only do so when an Atlantic weather system has potential for an amber or red warning.
