Glasgow weather forecast: thunderstorm weather warning still in place for tomorrow

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather alert for thunderstorms and potential flooding tomorrow (Thursday).

The alert is in place between noon and 9pm on Thursday, July 11 and reads: “Heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause some travel disruption and flooding in places during Thursday afternoon and evening.”

According to the latest weather forecast, the storm looks set to hit Glasgow around 2pm, following on from a rainy morning.

The good news, however, is that it may clear the way for some sunshine - with clear skies forecast by Thursday afternoon.

The Met Office prediction for the whole of the day is a muggy one with maximum temperatures of 22C and a “cloudy, rather murky and damp start then brightening up with some warm sunshine. A few showers developing, perhaps heavy and thundery in the east and over Lanarkshire.”

Of course, that forecast could change, as it has throughout the week - but personally, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a bit of thunder and lightning ...
