Glasgow weather forecast for Hogmanay and New Year's Day

Bringing in the bells will be a little different for everyone this year.

There won't be any mad rush to the bar to get a drink before the clock strikes midnight, queuing to get into a packed nightclub or even New Year's Day dinner anywhere other than at home.

But there will be some nice weather, so that's something at least.

Look our your hat, scarf and gloves because as we head towards the end of the 2020, we'll be seeing some much needed winter sun - perfect for a New Year's Eve or New Year's Day walk.

Under current Level 4 restrictions, six people from two households can meet outdoors.

After a bright and sunny day on Wednesday, Thursday will be a chilly 2° and dry throughout but on the cloudy side.

The first few days of 2021 will be a bit brighter with sunny intervals throughout.

Temperatures will be sitting around 3° until the sun sets around 4pm. After that, winter will firmly be upon us with temperatures dropping to -2°.

The nice, wintry weather might not make up for missing out on spending time with loved ones but it will certainly make it a bit easier.

Happy New Year when it comes!
