Glasgow weather: Forecast ahead tops 26C as temperatures soar in city heatwave

Glasgow is set for another heatwave with the city set to bask in temperatures of over 25 degrees next week.

The city is expected to enjoy maximum temperatures of around 21C and 22C this week, however it will get even hotter on the weekend and into the following week, according to forecasters.

The Met Office predicts Glaswegians will bask in 25C heat on Saturday, followed by 26C days on Sunday and Monday and wall-to-wall sunshine.

By comparison, the likes of Barcelona will experience 29 degrees on Sunday, with Ibiza at 28C and Paris at 30C.

And Glasgow's sunny weather will continue into the following week, at least on Tuesday and Wednesday, before a period of rainy weather grips our city.

Looking forward to the days ahead, the Met Office say: "Settled weather continuing for the rest of the week and into the weekend.

"All parts will stay dry with plenty of warm sunshine.

"Misty at times on the West Coast."

Of course with the hotter weather comes a high UV rating, with people advised to wear sun cream as the temperatures increase.
