Glasgow weather for week ahead with heavy rain and high temperatures forecast

After sunshine and temperatures of 27C quickly turned into heavy rain, thunder and lightning on Friday night, Glasgow's summer weather was captured in one brief moment.

It's been a real mix this year - as tends to be the case most summers - with minor glimpses of sunshine soon met by dark clouds and showers.

And we could be in for another similar week, with forecasters predicting both heavy rain and dry days where the temperature is expected to exceed 20C once more.

Today (Sunday) and Monday are due to be largely dry, with temperatures peaking at 18C. However, from Tuesday morning until Wednesday evening, the city is set to be lashed by heavy rain and strong winds, according to the Met Office.

Yet, from Thursday through to next Sunday, there's no rain forecast, but regular sunny spells and maximum temperatures as high as 22C.

Therefore, it's another week where we might see a little bit of everything - although there's no thunderstorms predicted - yet.
