Glasgow weather for May Bank holiday as Met Office and BBC predict cloudy day

Earlier this week we reported that it was looking good for the city with highs of 16C predicted and sunny spells.

However as we all know the weather in Scotland can change in an instant and it seems as it we won't get as many sunny spells like we were first predicted.

Weather forecasters at the Met Office and BBC have said that the city is set for cloud however the temperatures will still remain within the double digits.

Thankfully tomorrow (April 28) and Friday are looking good with highs of 14C and 16C respectively with rain and cloud expected on Saturday.

Sunday is much the same with "light cloud and a gentle breeze" predicted.

The following Monday however marks the May Bank holiday which falls on May 2 - so what will the weather be like on that day?

Just like the weekend, we aren't expecting the best forecast.

Both the Met Office and BBC Weather have said that it should remain cloudy all day with highs of 15C and lows of 9C.

There is no rain forecast and despite the cloud, the double figures could keep it feeling warm as we approach summer.

Glasgow's five day weather forecast according to the Met Office

Today

It will be a dry and bright day with sunny spells, although some cloudier periods possible too, the best of the sunshine will be west coastal areas and the islands. Winds will be light. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight

Cloud and also clear spells, accompanied by very light winds mean that there may be some frost inland. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Thursday

Another settled day with light winds and a lot of bright and sunny weather, small risk of an afternoon shower. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday

Bright with sunny intervals on Friday but a change to the weather for the weekend with more cloud and some rain pushing in from the west, perhaps windier too.
