Glasgow weather: City to cloud over as sunny intervals set to end today

Over the weekend many people ventured out to make the most of the good weather - something that as we all know, is rare in Glasgow.

Monday (March 7) and today still remains sunny though it's not quite 'taps aff' weather just yet.

But sadly the sunny weather is all set to end according to the Met Office and the BBC.

Forecasters have said that the sun should stay out until 1pm today and afterwards the city should expect rain and lots of clouds.

Heavy rain is set for Wednesday (March 9) with some dry spells whilst light rain and cloud is set for Thursday and Friday.

The next time the sun is set to make an appearance is Friday (March 11) between 2pm and 6pm.

Glasgow's five day weather forecast according to the Met Office

Today:

Mostly fine dry and sunny, before rain reaches the Isles and west coast from mid afternoon, extending to most areas by dusk. Fresh to strong southeasterly winds, with gales acoss the Isles, easing slightly later Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy start to the evening with some showery rain, then becoming clearer and drier. Most staying dry overnight but rain reaching the Inner Hebrides by morning. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Wednesday:

Dry for much of the day across Glasgow and Lanarkshire. Rain over western Argyll will edge slowly east reaching Ayrshire in afternoon and all areas in evening. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Thursday mainly cloudy, a littie light rain. Cloudy with occasional rain on Friday. Then sunny spells on Saturday.
