Glasgow weather: city set for ‘mini heatwave’ in time for next weekend

The summer of 2019 will surely go down as one of the wettest in recent memory - but don’t pack your shorts and t-shirts away just yet, Glasgow.

It may be September and the pumpkin spiced lattes may be afoot - but we could be in for a ‘mini heatwave’ before we get all cosy and autumnal.

The Met Office forecast for the later half of this week shows Glasgow “becoming warmer and feeling pleasant in the sunshine” - with blue skies and temperatures reaching 19 degrees.

Look elsewhere at local forecasts and you’ll even see 20 or 21C - which is taps aff weather if you ask us, September or otherwise.

The best of the sunshine looks set to reach us on Friday, followed by a warm but cloudy day on Saturday and a balmy 18C day on Sunday - although we could be due some rain alongside by the end of the weekend.

Still, it’s good news for those of suffering through those Monday blues - here’s hoping the weather forecast sticks until the end of the week. We’re keeping our eyes peeled for you …
