Glasgow weather: BBC predicts downpours for city across weekend

Glasgow is set for downpours all weekend according to experts at BBC Weather.

Forecasters predict that Saturday (May 21) will see some sunny intervals between 10am and 4pm however this will likely be ruined by rain which is set to hit the city from midnight until 7pm the same day.

The bad weather spell will continue on the last day of the weekend with Sunday (May 22) predicted to be much the same.

Saturday and Sunday will see highs of 13C and 15C, respectively, as well as lows of 11C and 9C.

Today

A mainly dry and bright dry start. Showers or longer spells of rain will spread eastwards across all parts, becoming heavy at times. Breezy along the west coast but becoming brighter there later. Maximum temperature 16C.

Tonight

A few showers continuing into the evening, some heavy at first. Becoming mostly dry overnight with clear spells but cloudier with the odd shower over Argyll. Minimum temperature 8C.

Saturday

A bright start for some, otherwise mainly cloudy with scattered showers. Breezy with some longer spells of rain across Argyll later. Maximum temperature 17C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday

An unsettled few days with showers or longer spells of rain, heavy at times with a chance of thunder. Breezy on Sunday.
