Glasgow weather: BBC and Met Office predict mini-heatwave with highs 'that feel like 30C'

After a heatwave with highs of 30C in July and some gorgeous sunny days during August, the city is now set for another mini-heatwave this September.

The news of a much-welcomed heatwave comes as The Met Office say that the north and west of the UK experienced a warmer, drier and sunnier season compared to average as Scotland had its fourth hottest summer on record.

In addition to this, Glasgow also witnessed a record high on the run up to COP26 with the city experiencing the hottest summer to date since 1884.

Looking at the warmer weather, locals can expect a mild and generally cloudy day today (September 3) and tomorrow with some bright spells as temperatures reach 18C as the weekend approaches.

However as we get to Sunday, this is where the weather thankfully begins to pick up with more sun and less cloud.

Both Monday and Tuesday (September 7) are again set to be a mild and cloudy day but with temperatures rising slightly to 20C and 22C respectively.

So although it's getting warmer, it may be best to keep all the BBQ food in the fridge until Wednesday as the BBC say a mini-heatwave will arrive with the Met Office predicting temperatures to soar to 25C around lunchtime with very little cloud in sight.

Thursday (September 9) is also set to be another gorgeous day with temperatures of 22C kicking in around 1pm.

We're just sorry it's on a weekday and not a weekend.

The weather forecasters say that although temperatures may only be 25C it could feel closer to 30C with low winds on Wednesday as the day goes on.

Although as winter slowly creeps up on us, remember the sun sets a bit earlier now so maybe have that BBQ sooner rather than later and enjoy the sun for as long as possible - just don't forget the SPF.
