Glasgow weather: Another September scorcher on the way this Saturday

Glaswegians aren’t exactly used to clear skies and sunshine, even in the depths of summer - so a ‘mini heatwave’ this September has us all in a tizz.

Thankfully, we have another sunny day ahead today following on from Friday’s highs of 22 degrees - so even if you were stuck in work, you still have time to enjoy it.

The Met Office weather forecast for Saturday reads: “It will remain dry with long spells of unbroken sunshine through the day, just a little patchy cloud in the far west later where it will stay windy. Very warm. Maximum temperature 23C.”

We’ll take that - and we’ll see you in one of the city’s top beer gardens while it lasts (it would be rude not to, really!)

So, will it last? Is autumn still a long way away? Well, no - in a word.

The outlook for Sunday onwards shows warmer temperatures than you’d expect at this time of year - but with the usual rain thrown in for good measure.

The forecast reads: “Still some bright warm weather on Sunday but cloudier at times with some heavy showers. Monday mostly dry and bright. Rain followed by sunshine and heavy showers on Tuesday.”

In short, we really hope you’re off work today - and that you have no indoor plans lined up. This is a case of making the most of it while you still can - and before those winter blues set in very soon.

Have a belter of a sunny Saturday, Glasgow!
